At Limpsfield, we value sport and PE, and its importance in keeping us fit and healthy. Sport is a great way to support a healthy lifestyle, to develop resilience, support teamwork and is also a lot of fun!
We are committed to providing children opportunities to access a wide variety of sports and healthy activities. We are also committed to providing children with opportunities to take part in competitions.
What is Sports Premium Funding?
The Sports Premium Funding is an initiative facilitated by the current Government to enhance the provision of P.E. and School Sport in primary schools. The funding, a direct response to London 2012, is available to primary schools. Each primary school will receive a lump sum depending on the number of pupils on roll and then a further sum per pupil on roll.
The funding that Limpsfield has received will allow the school to continue developing its provision. The school will develop its P.E. curriculum, providing a rich, varied and balanced provision with quality resources, staff CPD and high-quality teaching and learning for all children.
It will also provide further exciting opportunities for children to be challenged and allow them to compete in school and out of school.
The Association for Physical Education (afPE) website provides advice on how the Primary PE & Sport Premium should be used.

Below are the PE and Sports strategies for 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.
What will Limpsfield use the funding for in 2016/17?
We have been awarded £9150 Sports Premium funding for this year and will continue to direct these funds towards self-sustaining, quality PE provision.
The funds will be spent on more coaches in PE lessons to support teacher’s CPD, resources, transport, kits, and staff training.
Below is a breakdown of how this money will be spent, and how we will measure its impact.
|Area money will be spent on:||How we will know we’ve been successful:|
|£3600 Arches School Sport Partnership Silver Package, which includes:|
|Training sports leaders.||
|Access to intra and inter school competitions.||

We will continue working with the Arches Sports Partnership as our key partner. By doing this we will continue with our commitment to ensure that the funding has a long term impact on pupil outcomes.
